Let me introduce you to the truly wonderful Mexican family that I have in Cuernavaca:
Judith (pronounced Whoo-dit): Judith es mi mamá mexicana. She is a beautiful woman in her 60s with silver hair, a smile that warms you heart and the most loving spirit ever. Judith is a former teacher and practices homeopathic medicine. She cured my upset stomache with an herbal tea. She cured Erin´s stuffy nose with eucalpytus. Judith can rattle off what different foods and plants can do for your body. I love that she uses the diminutive ito for everything! For example, Shanon, quieres un cafecito o un tecito? (Translation: Would you like a little coffe or a little tea?)
Patti (pronounced Pah-tee): Patti, Judith´s daughter, has a house literally a few feet away from Judith on the same property. She runs a school/day care for young children in her house. Whenever I walk into her house, I meet little girls and boys that look at me like I am an alien.
Ugh! I´ve rewritten this post twice and it won´t save the whole thing! My time is up for now...
Adios!
